AFIA brings hay and silage professionals together at Wagga Update

Next week, on Thursday June 12 the Australian Fodder Industry Association (AFIA) is holding a fodder grower update in Wagga Wagga.

“This update is a great chance for anyone involved in the fodder industry to get together and talk hay and silage” said Darren Keating, AFIA Executive Officer.

“The night will involve an update on AFIA activities for our members, including transport, export market access, and opposing the introduction of red tape for hay producers” Mr Keating said. “We will also have an update from Prime Super on the upcoming changes to Superannuation law’s, important information for anyone who employ’s staff”.

The fodder grower update is open to anyone involved in hay and silage to come and see what AFIA is all about. While the presentations are a great incentive to attend, the most valuable part of the evening will be the chance to talk with other people who are involved in the hay and silage industry.

“Being part of AFIA is all about being part of the network, a group of dedicated hay professionals from across the country” said Mr Keating.

AFIA also provides access to information and services, such as the Fodder Care program, an online program that lets producers create and store vendor declarations for their fodder. AFIA also has a strong focus on providing national hay market information as well as conducting regular fodder audits.

“We’ve been hearing that fodder stocks in most of NSW are quite tight, so I’m looking forward to catching up with NSW producers in Wagga Wagga to hear what their thoughts for the coming fodder season are” Concluded Mr Keating.

The AFIA member update will be held at the William Farrar hotel commencing at 6.30pm on Thursday 12 June. For more information visit the AFIA website www.afia.org.auand to RSVP contact Darren Keating on 0437 103 848.
