2015 Feed Central National Hay Quality Competition Launched

The 2015 Feed Central National Hay Quality Competition has been launched, giving hay growers across Australia the opportunity to benchmark their crops against the best in the nation.

A total of 753 lots weighing 180,000 tonnes were inspected during the inaugural competition which ran between September 1 last year and June 30, 2014.

Feed Central hopes to build on that success with the 2015 competition which was launched at the Elmore Field Days.

Managing Director Tim Ford said the competition gave growers a chance to be recognised for their quality product while highlighting the value of producing good quality hay.

“High quality hay means more money for a supplier and better outcomes for end users,” Mr Ford said. “This competition gives producers a chance to share in more than $10,000 in prizes and receive the accolades they deserve for producing higher quality hay.”

“The inaugural competition was a huge success in 2014 and we believe it will continue to encourage growers to recognise the positive benefits of making good hay.”

To enter, producers simply have to list their hay in the Feed Central system and an inspector will visit their property for an on-site inspection.

The competition ends on June 30, 2015. More details can be found at www.feedcentral.com.au.

Feed Central provides hay certification and marketing services to a national client base and has marketed and sold more than 100,000 tonnes of quality assured hay in the past 12 months.
