Aim of the Award
The AFIA Innovation Award is proudly sponsored by PROFILE. The Award was initiated in 2011 as a joint initiative of AFIA and Profile Hay and Silage Inoculants. It aims to encourage and recognise the importance of innovation for the future of AFIA members.
Your innovation can be an invention or an adaption of existing technology that provides a value added solution to an element of fodder conservation in Australia. This could include:
- Mechanical devices
- Software
- Agronomic techniques
- Education programs
Judging
The awards will be judged by a three member panel of prominent fodder industry technicians independent of AFIA and the judging criteria for 2013 is
- Inventiveness/originality 20 Points
- Industry need 20 Points
- Value or cost benefit 20 Points
- Scope for application in industry 10 Points
- Contribution to the fodder industry 15 Points
- Contribution to workplace safety 15 Points
Four finalists will be highlighted at the Australian National Fodder Conference (ANFC) to be held at the Novotel Resort, Palm Cove, QLD in August, 2013. The winner will be announced and presented with a perpetual trophy and cash prize at the Conference dinner.
